I will double check with the Center for some clarification on the current success rate of the intestinal biopsy, but I don't think that they would disagree with you on the fact that the biopsies do not always find the damage.

There is another part of the interview that discusses the leaky gut with pictures and everything: http://www.tenderfoodie.com/blog/2011/12/19/interview-w-dr-alessio-fasano-part-1-should-anyone-eat-glute.html

There is certainly a lot more to discuss gut-wise, as you mentioned, like the patient's capacity for detoxification and the potential benefits (and potential necessity) of a grain-free diet, and so much more. They are on the list, so I appreciate the encouragement to get 'er done.

Annsley Klehr comments on Interview w/ Dr. Alessio Fasano, Part 2: How to Get Tested for Celiac Disease

Arnold, I am not disagreeing with you, but can I ask your background?

arnold zimmerman comments on Interview w/ Dr. Alessio Fasano, Part 2: How to Get Tested for Celiac Disease

I am very glad that you featured Dr. Fasano in this brief article. There are however a few problems with his response, at least as far as what was reported. The serological tests are notoriously inaccurate in 7 out of 10 patients, unless total vilous atrophy is present. Intestinal biopsy is not the gold standard, since even multiple biopsies can and do miss damage that is beyond the reach of the scope. Anyone known or suspected of having celiac or gluten sensitivity should at all costs, avoid all grains, period. There is just too much molecular similarity with the other so called gluten free foods. That includes millet, rice, quinoa, etc. A reactive individual is still facing saponins, zeins, etc., which can be pro inflammatory, leading to a leaky gut. As someone who has been the seminal figure for championing the idea of leaky gut syndrome, this should have been mentioned. In addition, the patients capacity for detoxification and the presence of any sign of intestinal dysbiosis should be considered. It is tragic and very disturbing, that allopathic medicine is deaf, dumb and blind to the existence of a hyper permeable intestinal track.

Dawn R. comments on Aimee's Story: Second Thoughts About Thanksgiving.

My 23 weeker, now 12 years old was just diagnosed a few months ago with multiple food allergies and many food sensitivities. Lately I feel that dealing with these food allergies and avoidances is much more difficult than dealing with life in the NICU. I don't have that team of specialists taking care of my little one. It's all up to me.

I can totally relate to your feelings of anxiety and apprehension with Family events. In our short 4 months of dealing with food allergies, we've had to dodge or make it through more than a handful of events and it is HARD in every way! I'm looking forward to those events being more about the people and less about the food. Thank you for your story, and best of luck with Raina!

cosmetics comments on Stephen Colbert, from Cows to Cosmetics, You've Led Me Down a Sticky Path

Informative and healthful tips and its very affordable with all consumers.
I've learned a lot u[on reading in this.
